Street trees are an important feature of the built landscape in the Crag. For a long time I have thought about creating a Tree Register that would record the species, age and location of each street tree. It is a project that has a lot of uses by the many stakeholders, residents, utilities, council, builders, architects and interested people who would like to know more about the tree that they walk past or drive past every day. A tree census would be even more ambitious and try to record the location and species of every tree in this suburb. To begin with here is Edinburgh Rd from The Citadel to Sortie Port. A plant guide has been published for the Crag http://www.castlecrag.org.au/natural/CPA_Local_Plant_Guide.pdf
